Jim Birnby is a Vice President in the Technology Group at Ayco, a Goldman Sachs Company. He is responsible for engineering the software used by Ayco’s Counseling teams.  Prior to Ayco, Jim was a Vice President in the Technology division at Goldman Sachs, where he held positions leading the global Storage and UNIX Engineering teams and worked as a network engineer. Before that, Jim held engineering positions at a number of Internet Service Providers. Jim also worked as a science and math teacher at the Bratislava International School in the Slovak Republic. Jim holds a Master of Business Administration from the Stern School of Business at New York University, a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan where he held a National Science Foundation Traineeship, and a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Tufts University where he graduated Summa Cum Laude.
