
RPI’s Industrial and Systems Engineering Department was well represented at the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers Annual Conference held in Atlanta, Georgia on May 31 to June 3, 2025. Students and faculty shared their research, increased their professional networks, and took home some awards and great experiences, including:
- John Nichols, Jen Pazour, John Mitchell, and Sandi Mishra, won a Best Track Paper Award in the Operations Research Track for their work entitled: A Computational Study on the Impact of Incrementally Changing Stochastic Probability Distributions to Optimization Model Outputs
- Jen Pazour was elected as a Fellow of IISE
- Emily Liu was elected as the new Chair-Elect of CIEADH (Council of Industrial Engineering Academic Department Heads)
- Bahar Cavdar served as an Operations Research Track Co-Chair
- Yinan Wang served as a Data Analytics and Information Systems (DAIS) Track Chair and is presently serving on the Board of Directors for DAIS
- PhD students Jiayu Liu, Carlos Morel Figueroa, and John Nichols attended the IISE Doctoral Colloquium, and competed in the Three Minute Thesis competition
- PhD students Yue Zhao, Jiayu Liu, Carlos Morel Figueroa, and John Nichols, and faculty Yinan Wang presented their research
