
Professor Azita Hirsa has been selected by the Class of 2024 to be among the seven faculty members who will participate in this year's The Last Lecture Series. Rensselaer's graduating class celebrates their last lecture at Rensselaer with lectures by faculty on diverse topics. Graduating seniors helped to choose who they would like to hear from one last time. This event is sponsored by Navigating the World & Beyond, and Student Success.
Dr. Randy Pausch delivered his "Last Lecture", titled "Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams" at Carnegie Mellon. His talk was modeled after an ongoing series of lectures where top academics are asked to think deeply about what matters to them, and then give a hypothetical "final talk", i.e., "what wisdom would you try to impart to the world if you knew it was your last chance? A month before giving the lecture, Pausch had received a terminal prognosis.
