Spring Discrete Event Simulation Modeling and Analysis course using VR

RPI Students

Students in Dr. Nima Ahmadi's Discrete Event Simulation Modeling and Analysis course utilized the Rensselaer Augmented and Virtual Environment (RAVE) for a deep dive into virtual reality (VR) technology. Through VR, they focused on reviewing and inspecting healthcare simulation models in FlexSim, gaining valuable insight into complex systems. This immersive session was enhanced by viewing "The Founder," a film depicting the story of Ray Kroc, a salesman who leveraged the McDonald brothers' efficient food preparation system to build the global McDonald's franchise. The movie underscores the impact of system innovation and performance optimization, paralleling the simulation concepts explored in class with real-world business success.
