The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering proudly celebrates Dr. Azita Hirsa, recipient of the Rensselaer Alumni Association (RAA) Teaching Award.
Established in 1994, the RAA Teaching Award honors faculty who demonstrate creative and innovative teaching, deep commitment to student success, and a lasting impact on the Rensselaer learning experience.
Dr. Hirsa’s courses in professional development, ethics, and management of engineering and technology have inspired hundreds of engineering students to connect technical excellence with integrity, purpose, and collaboration. Her mentorship extends beyond the classroom through initiatives such as the Leaders in Action speaker series and the Order of the Engineer ceremony.
“Students learn best when they feel supported, challenged, and seen as collaborators in our learning journey,” said Dr. Hirsa. “This recognition affirms that those efforts matter.”
The ISE Department congratulates Dr. Hirsa on this well-deserved honor and thanks her for her dedication to shaping the next generation of ethical and impactful engineers.
