The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute invites applications to fill two full-time Lecturer positions. Selected individuals will be welcomed into the department as a full partner with the six (6) current faculty participating in undergraduate curriculum instruction and development focusing on preparing the industrial and systems engineer of the future. This position will be on the Troy, New York campus. Lecturers are non-tenure-track faculty members who have experience in the research and practice of their profession and who have the ability and desire to teach in a collaborative environment.
in addition to engaging students through course instruction in our Industrial and Systems Engineering programs, include identifying, developing and delivering undergraduate- and graduate-level courses; advising students; and participating in ongoing curriculum development and design.
Minimum education required:* Doctorate (ex: Ph.D./J.D./Ed.D. or other)
Experience as a Graduate Research Assistant, Graduate Teaching Assistant, or Instructor or equivalent
A Ph.D. (or foreign equivalent) in an appropriate area is required along with a strong desire and commitment to teaching and student support primarily at the undergraduate level. Preference will be given to candidates with an undergraduate degree in industrial engineering or closely related field.
Describe the type of preferred experience:
Excellent written and oral communication skills; evidence of effective teaching ability.
Prior research experience; prior experience in undergraduate teaching and advising.
